Benchmarking for Global Best Practice

In today’s business world of significant international competition, the demand for higher quality in products and service continues to increase. To meet this demand, organisations have adopted different strategies and business tools to improve their global position and operational performance. A strategy employed by business leaders for achieving improved global market positioning and performance is Benchmarking – a process of continuous improvement by identifying, analyzing, customizing, and implementing outstanding best practices from external organizations or inter-company divisions to improve business performance.

The purpose of the program is to design and apply four different benchmarking methodologies in the organization, namely Formal benchmarking, Performance benchmarking, Desktop benchmarking and Survey benchmarking. The delegate will understand the different benchmarking processes and when to apply each for effective identification and implementation of global best practice.

The training will allow the delegate to:

  • Define benchmarking and understand its value in continual improvement and competitive advantage.
  • Determine the company criteria and relevant processes for benchmarking.
  • Design, prepare and conduct different benchmarking methodologies.
  • Identify, extract and validate global best practice from benchmarking
  • Compare benchmark results with company performance criteria.
  • Design a benchmark report with valid lessons learned and performance criteria.
  • Be aware of the challenges of access to information and how to overcome this challenge.
  • Understand the confidentiality requirements for benchmarking.
